Every workshop is a self-contained experience that invites you to step away from the pace of everyday life and enter the world of authentic Argentine tango through the distinctions that make it a uniquely human way of relating. Through movement, guided visualizations, music, and shared experiences, you will explore yourself, your relationship to another person, and the communities of which you are a part. No dance experience is required.

Workshops

A Different Kind of Workshop

Most workshops begin with the assumption that you have something to learn, improve, or become.

The Tango State begins somewhere else.

It begins with the possibility that nothing essential is missing.

Rather than asking you to become someone different, this experience invites you to pause, turn your attention inward, and discover what is already present. Through the distinctions of authentic Argentine tango, guided visualizations, movement, music, and shared experiences, you are invited to encounter yourself with curiosity, openness, and without judgment.

There is no ideal version of yourself to achieve.

Instead, there is an invitation to recognize, appreciate, and trust what you discover—to experience your own uniqueness and the quiet sense of enoughness that has been there all along.

What You Can Expect

Every workshop unfolds as a carefully guided journey. Through the distinctions of authentic Argentine tango, participants engage in movement, guided visualizations, music, individual reflection, partner experiences, and group conversations. Each activity builds upon the previous one, creating a space where insight emerges naturally through experience rather than instruction.

Throughout the workshop, you will be invited to slow down, observe without judgment, and explore yourself, your relationship to another person, and the communities of which you are a part. There are no right or wrong answers, no performances to perfect, and no expectations to become someone else.

Workshops are offered as a series, the time between sessions is as much a part of the experience as the sessions themselves. As you return to everyday life, each experience continues to unfold in its own way. New observations, questions, and insights often emerge naturally over time, and each participant's journey is unique. The space between sessions is not an interruption of the process—it is part of the exploration.

Every participant brings a different life experience, and every workshop unfolds differently. What remains constant is the invitation to explore, discover, and leave with experiences that can continue to resonate long after the workshop has ended.

Workshop Formats

The Tango State is designed as an immersive experience. Every format offers a complete journey while allowing enough time for exploration, reflection, and integration.

Weekend Immersion

Offered over one weekend, this format provides an uninterrupted experience in which participants explore the distinctions of authentic Argentine tango through movement, guided visualizations, music, reflection, partner experiences, and group dialogue.

Approximately 8 hours

Four-Session Series

This format offers the same complete experience over a slightly longer period, creating additional space for reflection, integration, and the gradual unfolding of each participant's discoveries.

Four sessions of approximately 2–2½ hours each

Three-Session Series

Each session builds upon the previous one, allowing participants to carry their experiences into everyday life before returning to the group. The time between sessions becomes an essential part of the exploration, as new observations, questions, and insights continue to emerge.

Three sessions of approximately 2½–3 hours each

A note about time

The Tango State is intentionally designed to unfold over time. Whether experienced during an immersive weekend or through a multi-session series, the process extends beyond the workshop itself. Reflection continues between sessions and after the workshop ends, allowing each participant's experience to deepen in a way that is unique to them. Time is not simply part of the schedule—it is part of the experience.

Is The Tango State for Me?

The Tango State was created for curious people rather than experienced dancers.

Participants come from many different backgrounds and professions, bringing with them different stories, perspectives, and life experiences. What they share is a willingness to pause, explore, and discover.

You may find yourself at home here if you are:

  • Curious about yourself and how you relate to another person.

  • Looking for a meaningful experience rather than a dance class.

  • Interested in authentic Argentine tango as a living cultural tradition.

  • Open to movement, reflection, and shared exploration.

  • Willing to slow down and make space for new discoveries.

‍ ‍No previous dance experience is required.
